Dear Members,

We are glad to inform you that SRTEPC will be mobilizing the participation of its member-companies in COLOMBIATEX being organized in Medellin, Colombia on a digital platform from 18th January to 5th February 2021. The Organizer of Colombiatex will be organizing this show on physical as well as digital platforms.  Since the program on a digital platform is being organized under the Market Access Initiative (MAI) Scheme of the Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of India, all participants will be given financial assistance through subsidized participation charges.

COLOMBIATEX is the largest Fair in Latin America for the entire Textile Value Chain, attracting buyers from all over the LAC region to source their textile requirements. The textile and apparel sector is one of the most important sectors in Colombia. The Colombian market offers tremendous opportunities for the supply of yarns and fabrics for the manufacture of apparel.

The event will be published extensively by Inexmoda, the Organizer of the renowned International Fair in Colombia. The Council will also publicize the Fair suitably through a separate E-Catalogue, sending invites to relevant textile importers in Colombia and coordinate with the Indian Embassy to promote the event to the leading importers of textiles & clothing, among other publicity measures.

In view of the above, the Organizer will navigate the digital platform to explain the following steps to participants  :

  • How companies should present themselves with their product profile
  • How Buyers & Exhibitors locate, who have registered online to generate appointments.
  • How to schedule appointments with buyers through the digital platform.

The training session will begin from 6th November 2020

Textile Industry in Colombia

  • Imports of Textile & Clothing by Colombia from the world were US$ 2.28 billion during 2018.
  • India’s share in total imports of Textile & Clothing of Colombia is 9.46%, worth US$ 216 million in 2018.
  • Textile imports of Colombia from the world account for nearly 71% (US$ 1.61 Bn.) of its total T&C imports.
  • Clothing imports of Colombia from the world account for only 29% (US$ 0.67 Bn.) of its total T&C imports.
  • Imports of Made-ups from the world reached over US$ 112 million with a share of nearly 4.89%.
  • Colombia’s total imports of MMF textiles from the world during 2018 stood at US$ 1754 million, of which India’s share was only US$ 94.03 million (5.35%).

Hence, there is tremendous scope to increase India’s exports to Colombia and increase our market share.

  • Once payment is done by the exhibitor for the above event, a refund will not be entertained.
  • The decision of the Management would be final in case of any confusion/dispute.
