Odisha has inked 33 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with textile and apparel industry companies, aggregating an investment of Rs. 7,808 crore (around US $ 940 million). These projects are estimated to create approximately 53,300 jobs in the state. Aside from the signed MoUs, the state also received various other investment proposals that have the potential to completely transform Odisha’s apparel sector. More than 160 companies—led by major players like Page Industries, First Step Baby Wear, KPR Mills, Sportking, Adarsh Knitwear, and Anubhav Apparels—attended the Odisha TEX 2025 conference. To fuel the industry’s development, the state introduced two hi-tech textile and footwear parks with plug-and-play facilities to enable state-of-the-art manufacturing. New modern workers’ hostels were also launched to enhance workforce stability and enhance livelihood.

Taiwanese business executives have been encouraged to invest in Telangana’s expanding textile sector by the state’s minister of industries and information technology, D Sridhar Babu who urged them to join the “Rising Telangana” movement.
The Minister underlined that Telangana is rapidly emerging as a major force in the textile industry and that it provides more prospects than other Indian states. Eleven Taiwanese textile representatives met with the Minister at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat under the direction of Justin Huang, President of the Taiwan Textile Federation (TTF).

The Egyptian Chamber of Apparel and Home Textile Industries (ECAHT) and the Textile Industries Chamber at the Federation of Egyptian Industries (FEI) recently hosted a high-level Chinese delegation comprising 15 representatives from both public and private sectors. The meeting aimed to explore avenues for boosting investment in Egypt’s burgeoning garments and textile sectors.
During the discussions, the Chinese delegation underscored the significant potential within the Egyptian market, emphasizing the availability of a young and skilled labor force alongside Egypt’s extensive network of trade agreements with major global economic blocs. These advantages, they noted, provide strong incentives for Chinese investors to swiftly establish a presence in the country.

Between January and June, the US remained Vietnam’s largest export market, with a total value of USD 70.91 billion, a sharp 28.3 per cent increase year-over-year. Notably, footwear and textiles, two of Vietnam’s key export staples, collectively generated USD 12.82 billion from this market. Textile exports to the US were estimated at USD 8.47 billion, a 17.1 per cent year-over-year increase, accounting for 45 per cent of Vietnam’s total textile export value. The US remains the largest market for Vietnamese textiles. Meanwhile, footwear exports to the US reached USD 4.35 billion, a 12.9 per cent increase, accounting for over 36 per cent of the country’s total footwear export value during the same period.
