Sub: Port restriction on import of certain goods from Bangladesh to India -Insertion of a new Para 19 under 'General Notes Regarding Import Policy" under ITC (HS), 2022 Schedule 1 (Import Policy)
 
Dear Sir/Madam,
 
This is to inform you that the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) has issued Notification No. 07/2025-26 dated 17th May 2025, introducing port restrictions on the import of certain goods including Textiles & Clothing from Bangladesh to India. This Notification is effective immediately.
 
As per the Notification, import of all Ready-Made Garments from Bangladesh will not be allowed from any land port. However, Imports will be allowed through Nhava Sheva and Kolkata seaports.
 
Further, Cotton and Cotton Yarn Waste shall not be allowed to be imported through any LCSs/ICPs in Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura and Mizoram; and LCS Changrabandha and Fulbari, in West Bengal.
 
The above restriction shall not apply to Bangladesh exports to Nepal/Bhutan transiting through India.
