Sub: Request for inputs for Joint Committee Meeting under India-Malaysia Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (IM-CECA)
Dear Sir/ Madam,
Department of Commerce (DoC), Ministry of Commerce and Industry informed the Council that a Joint Committee Meeting under India- Malaysia Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (IM-CECA) will be held in September 2024.
As you may be aware, the MICECA was signed on 18 February 2011 and came into force on 1 July 2011. Under the MICECA both India and Malaysia give tariff concessions to each other to enhance two-way trade besides facilitating investment and economic relations between India and Malaysia.
In view of the above, you are requested to please send your inputs/ views/suggestions on the following on the Email ID pr@matexil.org / baruah@matexil.com on or before Friday 12 July 2024.
- On increasing exports to Malaysia.
- Tariff and Non-tariff Issues.
- Challenges (if any) while exporting to Malaysia.
- Any other issue that needs to be flagged up in the above meeting.
