Sub: CBIC notifies the Electronic Duty Credit Ledger (Amendment) Regulations, 2022 by extending the validity of the e-scrips from 1 year to 2 years
We would like to inform you that CBIC has issued Notification No. 79/2022-Customs (N.T.) dated 15th September, 2022 (copy enclosed) by making amendments to the Electronic Duty Credit Ledger Regulations, 2021. These regulations shall now be called the Electronic Duty Credit Ledger (Amendment) Regulations, 2022 and shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
It may be informed that CBIC had earlier issued Notification No. 75/2021-Customs (NT) dated September 23, 2021 by notifying Electronic Duty Credit Ledger Regulations, 2021.
Now vide CBIC Notification No.79/2022-Customs (NT) dated 15th September, 2022, following amendments are made to Notification No.75/2021-Customs:-
“6. Use and validity of e-scrip. –
(2) The e-scrip shall be valid for a period of two years from the date of its creation in the ledger and any duty credit in the said e-scrip remaining unutilized at the end of this period shall lapse.”
“7. Transfer of duty credit in e-scrip. –
(3) The period of validity of the e-scrip, of two years from its creation, shall not change on account of transfer of the e-scrip.”
