Subject: Production Linked Incentive (PLI) - 2 Scheme for Textiles
Dear Member,
As you are aware, after the successful implementation of the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Textiles products, namely MMF Apparel, MMF Fabrics and Products of Technical Textiles, the Ministry of Textiles is formulating the PLI 2 Scheme with a projected outlay of Rs. 4283 crore. The proposed products to be covered under the PLI 2 Scheme are Apparel/Garments/home textiles: and (2) Textile accessories, like Embellishments, Trimmings, Zippers, Lace, velcro tape, elastic tape, button & eyelet, etc. The objective of the PLI 2 Scheme is to enhance India’s manufacturing capabilities in value-added finished textile products by inviting additional investment for increasing production in this labour-intensive sector.
The Council has received a Draft Scheme of PLI 2 for Textiles from the Ministry of Textiles requesting our comments/inputs on the draft by 21st September 2022. A copy of the Draft Scheme is enclosed herewith for your information.
You are requested to kindly go through the Draft Scheme of PLI 2 and send us your comments/inputs on the draft by 2 PM on 20th Sept. in order to help us furnish consolidated inputs on behalf of the industry to the Ministry by 21st September 2022, as directed by the Ministry. The valuable comments/inputs of the Members may please be sent to the Council by return email at ed@srtepc.in.
