REF. MR/CIR/2022-23/007 April 26, 2022
To: Members of the Council
Sub: Appeal for support to maintain existing Status quo in the product profile of the Export Promotion Councils in case of promotion of the Made-ups products.
Dear Sir / Madam,
It is to place on record the profound support and confidence that the entire Manmade fibre textiles segment has been entrusting in the Synthetic and Rayon Textiles Export Promotion Council (SRTEPC) during last seven decades. Over the years, SRTEPC has been encouraging and engaged in promoting exports of the entire MMF textiles value chain including Fibre, Yarns, Fabrics and Made-ups which together worth around Rs. 45,000 crores now. Made-ups constitutes around 26% in the export basket of Indian MMF textiles. Through the years, SRTEPC has been endeavouring to understand the issues being faced by the entire value chain including the Made ups sector and taking up the same with the Government for addressing suitably and developed an expertise in promoting exports of Made-ups also globally.
In one of the recent meetings with the Hon’ble Minister of Commerce and Industry, it was raised and proposed by the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) that the Made-ups exports covered under chapter 63 which have historically been under the purview of the SRTEPC, to be shifted to the Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC) purview. As you are also aware, the services rendered by SRTEPC are skilled, dedicated, specific and focused towards each segment including the Made-ups. And the Council is committed to continue and improve upon it.
The Esteemed Members of SRTEPC who have been untiredly working day and night and actively contributing to the growth of exports of the Made-ups segment from India, are requested to kindly support and confirm whether you are in favour of SRTEPC continuing to promote the exports of MMF Made ups and home textiles.
To receive your favourable consideration and support, please fill the Declaration Form (download) and send us back through E-mail at baruah@srtepc.in, ed@srtepc.in.
Thanking You
